TIRED OF WAXING AND SHAVING?

Wouldn’t it be a relief to throw on a bathing suit and go?  Can you even imagine not having to think about personal grooming before every beach weekend this summer?  If you start now, that dream can be a reality.  LASER HAIR REMOVAL is by far the best way to  remove unwanted hair and leave you completely smooth.

Laser Hair Removal is a safe and effective process that selectively concentrates light energy in the hair follicle, and leaves the surrounding skin unharmed.  Over time, the follicle withers away, and a hair will never be able to sprout again from the treated areas.  Treatments last from 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the area treated. There is no downtime; you can return to all regular activities immediately following the treatment.   Because of the growth cycle of the hair (and we’ll spare you the in-depth biology lesson!), the treatment needs to be repeated about six times per area for optimal results.  Treatments should be scheduled four to six weeks apart, again, depending on area treated.

While we never say “permanent” (there’s always a chance of a rare straggler, which can easily be treated), when performed correctly, Laser Hair Removal is simply the most effective way to remove unwanted hair.   Incidentally, we’ve been seeing a bunch of Laser Hair Removal deals popping up on Groupon and other “deal” sites – and we’ve followed up with several of them – ALL of which were NOT being performed by a doctor.   Aside from being illegal, this is quite dangerous- lasers are powerful tools, and can cause severe and permanent damage if not handled correctly.

Best time to start treatment?  RIGHT NOW!  To help sweeten the deal, and make sure you’re sleek by summer, we’re taking 20% of all our Laser Hair Removal packages.  (And our most popular combo package – underarms and bikini – is even further reduced.)  Treatment MUST start in February, and packages must be paid in full.  CLICK HERE, call us or come on in for procedure and pricing details.

THE 4 PILLARS OF NON-SURGICAL FACIAL REJUVENATION

Imagine for a moment that you own an old, worn out car.  The wheels are out of alignment, the paint is beginning to chip, and the front bumper is hanging on by a bolt.

Sure, you could spring for a new paint job or a shiny set of rims.  But if you fix up just one area, anyone would still be able to see the jalopy that lies beneath.  The lesson: true restoration often requires a comprehensive approach.

The same principle holds true for the aging face.  While fillers, neuromodulators (Botox and Dysport), laser treatments and proper skincare each do their part toward a rejuvenated look, it is only in combination that these treatments can deliver true results.

With this concept in mind, Dr. Susan Stevens Tanne, Medical Director of COSMETIC LASER MD, has distilled the art of facial rejuvenation into a short list of non-surgical treatments – the 4 R’s of non-surgical facial rejuvenation.  “It’s not just about finding one technique – it’s a combination of several approaches to skincare that will really provide excellent results over the long haul,” Dr. Tanne notes.

RELAX – First step is to relax the muscle contractions so that wrinkles and tension lines practically disappear.  Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are all excellent and proven neurotransmitters that will smooth wrinkles from the forehead (especially those 11’s between the eyes), crows’ feet and other wrinkling that occurs through movement.

RESTORE – Dermal fillers are excellent at restoring volume and filling in divots and more permanent wrinkles and depressions.  Dr. Tanne uses several fillers – Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse and Perlane - and was recently honored by the NON-SURGICAL FACELIFT ASSOCIATION as a top doctor in the field of facial fillers.  In addition to volumizing, fillers can also – if done correctly and only by an expert – fill in a scar depression, augment a chin, rejuvenate hands, and correct imperfect noses.  Dr. Tanne has become known for her innovative use of fillers.

RESURFACE – Chances are sun damage from our teenage years is now taking its toll and our skin now shows signs of hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, uneven texture, remnants of acne scars and more.  Luckily, there are several options to dramatically change the texture of your skin.  Any procedure would start with a VISIA deep-skin photo analysis and discussion with Dr. Tanne regarding your goals and your options.

Laser Treatments are the best option for significant retexturing of the face and neck.  To improve laxity and saggy skin, Dr. Tanne recommends Sublime Laser treatments, which have shown remarkable results at improving laxity in the eye and cheek areas.

For pigmentation issues, FotoFacial (or Intense Pulsed Light, IPL) can zap those melanocytes and leave unpigmented, fresh skin.

Chemical peels are also an option for skin resurfacing.  COSMETIC LASER MD offers several chemical skin peels, depending on our patients’ particular concerns and goals.

REGIME We cannot stress the importance of proper skincare enough!  We equate proper skincare to “brushing and flossing” between Dentist visits.  It’s the home care that really makes a difference in your skin over time.  We put together a comprehensive SKIN CARE REGIME for each of our patients, starting with proper cleansing, to ingredient-driven products and of course, chemical-free sunscreens.

When our patients adhere to these “4 R’s of Non-Surgical Facial Rejuvenation,” we inevitably receive a 5th one – RAVE REVIEWS!
